Going home

We only stayed in the hospital for 2 nights then it was time to make the trip home. Very excited yet very nervous at the same time, we pack up all of our stuff and dressed him in his "going home" outfit that was way to big! I had brought other things for him to wear while at the hospital that probably would have fit a little better since he came to us so small, but I fell in love with this outfit the moment I saw it. So with a little tucking and rolling of sleeves, etc. we tried to make it fit and went with it anyways! He looked pretty cute even still........
Getting tucked into the car seat for the first time, he looks so small!
This is one of our first family photos of 3!

And we're off! This was one of the longest car rides home for me. Not to mention we didn't get to leave until like 5pm on a Friday afternoon, we took many side streets, etc. to make sure that our new bundle of joy would make his first trip home safely!
This was a special surprise! Ryan had an edible bouquet delivered to the house for me to have when we arrived! It was sooooooooo yummy!
Finally we started to get settled in and Eli got to meet the dogs.....well Axel was very curious, and maggie didn't really know what to do. The first few days that E would cry maggie would pace around and cry too! This is the closest that we have let them get so far! I am sure that when he gets older the dogs will be running from him! HA!

D Day!

This is the day that changed our lives for sure, Eli's birthday! This is a pic of me early in the am, around 7 when they started the pitocin induction. The night before they used a cervidil medication to try and get things started, but when they checked me I was still at a 0-1. I was feeling great, and very excited even though I had not had a whole lot of sleep the night before.
One more pic of Ryan and Me
We had lots of people waiting for Eli to get here! Here is Gi Gi waiting in the wings and then Ryan's niece and nephew came in to visit while I was in labor...aren't they cute!
Happy Birthday Eli! Here he is on the warmer so that he can be dried off and examined by the nurses.

I finally get to meet my sweet little boy....
Our day went so smoothly because of our wonderful doctor and awesome L&D nurse. I was very lucky, bc. Carrie was my nurse that day! Carrie and I were previous co-workers and roomies a couple years back! It was great to have a friend help us through it all!

April 21st....

April 21st....
This was the day we found out that Eli would be on his way very soon! We went in for our 38 week sono with the perinatologist and he measured Eli again to see if he had grown since our last measurements at 36 wks. He said that he had, but was still lacking in some areas, so he would feel more comfortable inducing, "just in-case". So here I am the night before, starting the induction process.

Another room update

Here is another update on Eli's room. Ryan and the container store became friends and he worked miracles for me! We finally have organization for the babies room.
We also moved in the changing table and got it all set up with diapers, wipes, etc. I really love this piece, almost as much as the crib!
And last but not least.....here is the curtain for his room! Thanks mom!
