Tummy Time

Tummy Time!
It has been so much fun watching Eli learning to hold up his head! I usually try to put him on the floor and play with him to help him work on those neck, shoulder, and arm muscles! He is doing such a great job and really loves to look around.

Fun times with E

These are just some random pics that we have, just showing you how much fun we are having with our baby boy. Here is Ryan and Eli playing on his floor mat.
I think that he really enjoys all the sounds and lights, he was trying to reach for it....
Just some pics of E and mommy...
Headed out for a walk, he loves his baby bjorn
A smile!

Memorial Weekend-2009

This year for memorial weekend we didn't go on our usual camping trip, bc. of the baby, but had Gi Gi babysit and we went out on the lake with our neighbors. We had a great time tubing, swimming and grilling. Here are some fun pics from the weekend....

1 month

1 Month Old!
Yep, time flies when you are having fun, and we definitely are! Eli turned 1 month old on the 22 of May, and he is already getting so big! So far he is just acting like a typical baby, just awake more during the day and looking around with those beautiful blue eyes! He has a really big stuffed monkey in his room, so like everyone else I thought we would start taking his picture with it every month to compare how big he is getting. I had to prop him up in the chair with it, but in a couple of months he will be sitting up beside it himself! Happy 1 month bday E!
Blue eyed boy
After a bath in his frog towel...he is actually starting to enjoy bath time now!
When Eli turned 1 month old we moved him from the pack n play in our room to his own room, into the crib. It was kinda scary for us even though it is just around the corner, but I really think that it helps us sleep better now. Hopefully he will love his bed too!

Mother's Day

This May was my first mother's day and it was wonderful! We started out the day going to church and introducing our little man to everyone in our Sunday school class. It was the first time we had been back to church since he delivered and it was great to see everyone! In the worship service they were giving out awards for various things, and I won the one for the newest mother in the whole place! Ha! Got a great box of chocolates out of it!! Then after church we met the family at one of my favorite places to eat, La Madeline! Yummy....Ryan doesn't really like it, but he said it was my day! Thanks babe! After a great lunch we took some pics, it was such a nice day and one that will be remembered always!
My award for the newest mom!

Great Grandparents and Aunt KK

This was such a special time for me and Eli. A couple weeks after he was born my grandparents got to come visit and see my new little boy! This was very special to me, bc. I grew up with both sets of my grandparents and 1 set of great grandparents and now Eli will experience the same thing! Also....my sister Kelly came in to visit her new nephew! It's always great to see her, especially since she lives 8 hours away, in Memphis, and we only get to see her a couple times a year bc. of her work schedule. We had a lot of fun and great food while she was visiting and we hope to see her again soon! Here are some great pics from that week......

Aunt KK -
That is just the name that I kept calling her when she was here, but not set in stone, not really sure what he will call her! Maybe since she has a new nephew she will move back to Texas ...pretty please!!!!!!!!!

The girls at Northpark with E, he loves to shop! (he he)

Bath Time....not such a fun time!

This was the first bath time trial for all 3 of us, and man, what an experience! We got out his little tub, which actually was huge once he got in it! As we were filling it up, we realized that since he was so small we had to put towels in it, just to help him fit in it! Anyways....I really thought that is was going to be a good "first bath" for E. Initially just setting him in the water and starting to wash his face was ok for about 5 seconds, and then he cried the rest of the time! I think he was in shock, so I am hoping that he starts to love his baths in the future....we will see!

Trying to eat the towel....I think he knew he was going to eat after this experience!
Really mad now....
Daddy drying him off, trying to make it better.....not working yet....
Sweet baby...the pacifier makes all the difference

1st visit to the Pediatrician

This is Eli's first visit to the Pediatrician. This was when he was 5 days old. As you can tell, I was so exhausted and his appt was very early in the morning! Ugghhh....
At birth he weighed 6#7oz, and at this appt weighed in at a whole 7#!
He is already growing so fast.
He didn't like the cold scale

Longhorn in the making...

This post is definitely for Ryan! Since daddy is a huge longhorn fan and would love for our little Eli to grow up and be a UT football player we gotta expose him now and get him geared up!
Eli's first longhorn outfit!
He even knows how to put up his "horns".....looks like he was born to go to UT! ;)

Going home

We only stayed in the hospital for 2 nights then it was time to make the trip home. Very excited yet very nervous at the same time, we pack up all of our stuff and dressed him in his "going home" outfit that was way to big! I had brought other things for him to wear while at the hospital that probably would have fit a little better since he came to us so small, but I fell in love with this outfit the moment I saw it. So with a little tucking and rolling of sleeves, etc. we tried to make it fit and went with it anyways! He looked pretty cute even still........
Getting tucked into the car seat for the first time, he looks so small!
This is one of our first family photos of 3!
Daddy putting Eli in the car
And we're off! This was one of the longest car rides home for me. Not to mention we didn't get to leave until like 5pm on a Friday afternoon, we took many side streets, etc. to make sure that our new bundle of joy would make his first trip home safely!
This was a special surprise! Ryan had an edible bouquet delivered to the house for me to have when we arrived! It was sooooooooo yummy!
Finally we started to get settled in and Eli got to meet the dogs.....well Axel was very curious, and maggie didn't really know what to do. The first few days that E would cry maggie would pace around and cry too! This is the closest that we have let them get so far! I am sure that when he gets older the dogs will be running from him! HA!
