Christmas came early....

Christmas came early!!
I have been wanting a new camera for a while, something besides a simple "point and click" camera that I usually upgrade every couple of years. I have been using a Cool pix camera for a while now, and ever since Eli was born realized that I needed something better. Something that would last me longer, so I decided on the Nikon D5000. So far it has been the greatest camera I have ever used, very user friendly and I am taking some classes to hopefully get some awesome pictures! We decided that I would get it for Christmas, but before so that I could learn how to use it and take some good holiday pics.

Carving Pumpkins

Well I am trying to keep up as best as I can but the year is just flying bye so fast, it's almost Thanksgiving!!!.....here are some pics from the week of Halloween, with our neighbors. It has become a tradition that everyone gets together the week of Halloween and we all order pizza or something and carve pumpkins, usually on Miranda & Todd's front porch. The weather was perfect and as always we made some fond memories with great friends!
Here is Eli dressed up in his Halloween shirt getting ready for pumpkin carving time...
(yes he has a Mohawk!...I love fixing his hair like this, daddy doesn't though...)

6 months old

Eli is already 6 months old!! We are having so much fun with him and he is growing like a weed! He is rolling all over the place to get around, and now he is getting up on all four's and scooting a bit....before long he will be all over the house! He grabs anything that is in front of him and puts everything in his mouth. He is drooling ALOT too, so he is starting to wear bibs all the time so his shirts don't get soaked. I keep feeling for little teeth, but none have popped out yet. He loves going outside and if he is ever fussy this is a quick solution. I think that he has discovered that Maggie and Axel (our dogs) do exist and he is quick to grab an ear or tail if they are playing with him on the floor. Our jumparoo is one of his favorite toys right now, and he goes crazy in it! He is one of the happiest babies that I have seen, very laid back, and always has a big open mouth smile that just melts your heart! He is eating cereal and has tried sweet potatoes, carrots and zucchini squash and loves every bite....I think we will always have a chunk a monk!
Mommy and E...I love rocking him to sleep at night and will be very sad when he doesn't want to do this anymore.....
Happy baby and mommy

Big Boy Food

Eli turned 6 months old on October 22 and it was time to start eating food along with his bottles. Ryan and I were really excited for this day and I was ready to see if he would like "real food". We started with rice cereal and proceeded on to carrots as the first veggie. He loved both, and since then we have tried zucchini squash and sweet potatoes. Knock on wood we haven't found anything that he doesn't like yet!!
I was so excited I took pics of the whole process! :)
Here is my big boy in his high chair....
Trying the cereal....
What a face!
Licking the bowl...it was so good!!
Trying the Carrots, what a mess!

Pumpkin Patch

I have been looking forward to this ever since Eli was born, well this and all of his "firsts" to come, 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter......well you get the point! Anyways......here are our pictures from the pumpkin patch. We went a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon and the weather was great. There were soooooo many people and little kids running around and Eli was a trooper. It was really hard to get him to look at the camera bc. he was so much more interested in everything that was going on around him, but we did get some cute shots! They had a lot of pumpkins, all sizes and shapes, and cute little wagons to pull, so Eli sat down and off we went!
We brought his little bug friend along, he is chewing on everything!!
I think he wanted the big one...he was not letting this one go! :)

The State Fair 09

Eli and and I went to the Texas State Fair this year with my parents the weekend of TX/OU. The weather was gorgeous and it wasn't really crowded at all. We had some great food and fun times! Dad drove a couple of the Chevy test cars and got some free stuff. We walked around a lot and saw some great exhibits. As far as the fair goes, we really all go for the FOOD!!! We had corn dogs, Texas nachos, cotton candy, tamales, grilled cheese, funnel cakes and some great burgers and onion strings! We all split everything, so it really didn't seem like a whole lot, but it was sooooooo good! I didn't get a whole lot of pics, but it was a lot of fun! I can't wait until next year when Eli can enjoy it more....
